Evening Masks
An evening mask is a type of facial mask that is worn at night. An evening mask can be worn for a number of reasons. For starters, it helps hydrate your skin, which is beneficial if you have dry skin or live in a cold climate. One common misconception is that evening masks must be worn overnight. Generally, you only need to leave the mask on for fifteen to thirty minutes to achieve the desired results. Many people wear them just before they go to bed so they can wake up feeling clean and fresh.
Who is it good for?
An evening mask may be worn by a number of different people. People with uneven skin tone, for example, are prime candidates for facial masks.
Spending a significant amount of time in the sun can cause hyperpigmentation, sun spots, or uneven skin tone. Use honey and a ripe papaya, and spread the mixture over your face. For blemishes such as acne, you may want to use a Green Tea Mask. This helps remove redness and closes up pores, but also reduces puffiness and actually comes with anti-aging rewards as well. You will need two green tea bags, a half-tablespoon of lemon juice, and a tablespoon of sugar. Once the tea is cool, remove the bags, add in the sugar and lemon, and massage onto your face. If your skin has a lot of oil on it, you can use a mask mixed with oatmeal. This will absorb the oil but also exfoliate your skin. If your skin has dull texture from a build-up of dry skin cells or a lack of moisture, a simple banana mask will work wonders. Bananas are amazing in that they exfoliate and moisturize your skin at the same time. Add in a shot of orange juice or a tablespoon of honey to your banana mask for extra benefits. Finally, if you have no major skin issues, you can still use an evening mask to keep your skin looking fresh. Mix one-quarter of a cup of cornstarch with a half-cup of mashed strawberries. Place a sleeping mask or cucumbers over your eyes to prevent the berry juice from seeping into them.

Generally, all you need to do is mash together a couple of ingredients, apply the mixture to your face, and leave it on for approximately ten minutes. Some people may not be confident in creating their own mixture, however. Luckily, there are several options available to you. Typically, you will be able to select a face mask based upon a desired outcome, such as smoothing skin complexion, evening skin tone, managing age spots, or reducing redness. If you are unsure, do some research online before you leave or ask one of the people working there for assistance. You can also talk to your doctor about your skin and what results you wish to achieve from a mask. They will be able to recommend a mixture for you, or at least send you to a beautician or other professional who will be able to come up with the perfect mixture for your skin in order to achieve the results you desire.
